Visiting Castello di Ama

Tours and Tastings

The fulcrum of Ama

Since its foundation, Castello di Ama's challenge has always been to produce great wines. But it was never the only one: the goal of Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti was – and still is – to reveal and transmit the magic of the place.

The core of Ama is therefore experience.

Our hope is that, tasting one of our wines, you will feel transported in front of the steep hills of Chianti, while you can perceive the rustle caused by the wind that creeps between the olive trees and the vines and take an ideal walk among the contemporary art, breathing in the history and love of the place.

But to definitely experience all of this, you have to come to Ama! Here is the reason and purpose of our visits and tastings.

Walking in Ama

Each guided “walk” is approximately 1:30h in duration, and consists of two different and complementary moments. The visit will begin with a walk in the village of Ama, from the historical to the productive part, passing through the world of Contemporary Art, which has always been integrated and organic to the estate. The second part of the experience will consist of a tasting, according to various proposals designed to emphasize two themes that we have always had at heart: time and territory.

For art lovers, although it is almost impossible for us to separate our works of art from the experience of the great wines, it will be possible to book a visit to the entire collection at a reserved price.

How to get to Chianti

Another key question… Especially to get to Ama. However, we do not speak of directions, but of history and tradition. The hills surrounding the Castello di Ama, and on which we have our vineyards, deserve the degree of terroir since 1700. As such, this land gives a strong connotation to each variety. Our historic Pinot Noir, the recent haiku…: even where Sangiovese is not in the majority, its voice is heard. But it is not possible to overthrow the landlord: “Castello di Ama San Lorenzo”, our most representative “Chianti Classico Gran Selezione”.

At the end of the visit, which lasts about 1 hour, you can start the journey among the international varieties, and then finally arrive home!

Journey to Ama's roots

€ 165/ person - 1:30 hours

The roots are important. And the roots of Castello di Ama are bold and solid, well planted in history.
This visit+tasting itinerary is dedicated to those who want to go in depth. At the end of the walk in the Borgo, about 1 hour long, the tasting will take shape as an adventure to discover our historic Crus.

'Vigneto Bellavista', one of the very first vineyard selections in Tuscany, born in 1978; 'Vigneto La Casuccia', Bellavista's more exuberant brother and born in 1985; 'L’Apparita', 100% Merlot born in 1985 from a micro-vinification and has become one of the greatest wines in the world.

The tasting will be led by the company's technical staff, with the aim of examining the greatness of these wines: their close link with the place.
