Il Chiuso

We have always been faithful to the principal of traditional wines in historical wine-making areas. Those who wish to make alternative wines must work to create tomorrow’s traditions. In other words, the traditions of the future are the results of today’s experiences. In the past we have experimented with different varietals, seeking to fuse their individual characters to those of the territory. Pinot Noir Il Chiuso is our contribution to the future.

Vineyard profile
Planted in 1984 on the slopes of the large valley of San Lorenzo, the vineyard covers a total of 4.156 hectares (10.26 acres) and contains Pinot Nero clones (111, 114 and 115) imported from Burgundy. This vineyard is another superb cru, along with L’Apparita, that makes use of non-traditional grapes.
The open lyre training system and the soil’s high percentage of calcareous matter ensure that this difficult variety ripes completely.
