2000 – Michelangelo Pistoletto – L’albero di Ama. Divisione e moltiplicazione dello specchio

“From the main entrance of Castello di Ama’s ancient cellars, we see a great trunk standing at the end of the staircase. A mirror, its surface cut into various angles so as to produce different refracted images, has been inserted like a wound in the side of this trunk. In one eloquent, powerful image, Michelangelo Pistoletto confronts us with a work that has to do with the way a mirror unifies and divides. The body of the tree has absorbed thought’s infinite mirror.”
